The Flood Begins
Water gushed from the oven (at-tannur) — the signal to board. Rain poured from the sky, and the earth burst with springs.
"So We opened the gates of heaven with rain pouring down, and We caused the earth to burst with springs." (Al-Qamar 54:11-12)
Nuh and His Son
Nuh called out to his son:
"O my son, come aboard with us and be not with the disbelievers." (Hud 11:42)
His son replied: "I will take refuge on a mountain to protect me from the water." The waves separated them. The son drowned.
Nuh grieved and called upon Allah about his son. Allah responded:
"Indeed, he is not of your family; indeed, his conduct was unrighteous." (Hud 11:46)
Lesson: True family bonds in Allah's sight are bonds of faith, not merely blood.
