The Creation of Eve (Hawwa)

Adam was feeling loneliness. So Allah created Eve (Hawwa) from one of his ribs. Allah settled them both in Paradise.

The scholars differed in five opinions about the location of this Paradise. The text favors leaving the matter to Allah, because the lesson from what happened within it is far more valuable than knowing its location.

Life in Paradise & The Warning

Allah permitted them everything except one tree. Iblis exploited Adam's humanity:

«هَلْ أَدُلُّكَ عَلَىٰ شَجَرَةِ الْخُلْدِ وَمُلْكٍ لَّا يَبْلَىٰ»

"Shall I direct you to the tree of eternity and a kingdom that does not decay?" (Taha 20:120)

He whispered to Adam day after day. Adam wondered what would happen — perhaps it really was the tree of immortality. Both Adam and Eve ate from it, forgetting the warning and forgetting that Iblis was their ancient enemy.

Clarification: Eve Was NOT the Cause

The Quran does not blame Eve separately. Adam is addressed as the responsible party. Shaytan sinned out of arrogance, and Adam sinned out of curiosity.

After eating, they discovered their nakedness and began covering themselves with leaves. Allah issued His command to descend from Paradise.
